These three days will take you to Bwindi impenetrable National Park and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park.

Mgahinga sits high in the clouds at an altitude between 2,227m and 4,127m. It was created to protect the rare mountain gorillas that inhabit its dense forests, and it is also an important habitat for the endangered golden monkey.

Mgahinga is located in Southwestern Uganda at the foot of mount Mhavula 540kms from Kampala and takes about 8hours via Kabale on an excellent paved road surface.

We shall also look at Bwindi impenetrable National Park which is also located in Southwestern Uganda on the edge of the rift valley. Its mist-covered hills are blanketed by one of Uganda’s oldest and most biologically diverse rain forests which dates back over 25,000 years and contains almost 400 species of plants, also protects an estimated 320 mountain gorillas roughly half of the world’s population including several habituated groups which can be tracked. It also provides shelter to a further 120 mammals such as baboons and monkeys as well as elephants, 350 species of birds. There is also an opportunity to discover the local Bakiga and Batwa Pygmy cultures through performances, workshops, and village walks.
